London’s West End, famous for theatre and where some opulent premieres take place. Go back stage and see the sights. Then to Edinburgh and the Edinburgh Fringe known all over the world and the launching ground for many acts.

 

 

 

Day 1 – London Arrival

Meet your specialist tour guide at the airport and head to nearby Windsor. Visit Windsor Castle, the largest inhabited castle in the world and one of the official residences of Her Majesty the Queen. Afterwards continue to London and enjoy free time before a first traditional English dinner. Overnight London.

 

Day 2 – London

After breakfast discover the city on a motorcoach overview. In London’s vibrant West End see famous sites such as Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square and Big Ben then move onto the Old City of London. Although now largely commercial, the city is packed with history and noteworthy buildings. See St Paul’s Cathedral, the Tower of London and London Bridge. This afternoon visit Shakespeare’s Globe on London’s South Bank. Overnight London

 

Day 3 – Excursion to Stratford-Upon-Avon and Oxford

Today set off for a full day excursion to Stratford-upon-Avon and Oxford. Visit Shakespeare’s birthplace and Anne Hathaway’s Cottage, the childhood home of Shakespeare’s wife. Afterwards continue to Oxford and tour Christ Church College, originally founded as Cardinal College during the reign of Henry VIII. Former members include many British Prime Ministers and Lewis Carroll who wrote

Day 4 – Theatre Tour

Start the day with a behind-the scenes tour of The National Theatre, located on London’s South Bank. Next visit the Theatre and Performance collection at the Victoria & Albert Museum in South Kensington. In the afternoon enjoy a backstage tour at the Royal Drury Lane Theatre, one of London’s oldest and best-loved theatres. Overnight London

 

Day 5 – London – Edinburgh

Today depart by rail from London Kings Cross to Edinburgh Waverley Station and on arrival discover the city on a panoramic sightseeing tour of the major sites including the Royal Mile, Edinburgh Castle, Princes Street and the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the Queen’s official Scottish residence. Tonight enjoy a typical Scottish dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight Edinburgh

 

Day 6 – Stirling and the Trossachs

Today depart for a full day excursion to the city of Stirling and the nearby National Park, the Trossachs. Visit Stirling Castle, one of Scotland’s grandest castles whose strategic location has made it an important fortification from the earliest time. Afterwards head into the Trossachs, the first National Park established by the Scottish Parliament in 2002. Overnight Edinburgh

 

Day 7 – Edinburgh Fringe Festival

Today enjoy a day at leisure to attend theatre performances at the Fringe Festival.

Day 8 – St Andrews and Scone Palace

After breakfast set off for a full day excursion to St Andrews, a medieval town known as the “home of Golf”. Later continue to Scone, home of the Earls of Mansfield and a major attraction to visitors from all over the world. Afterwards return to Edinburgh for overnight. Overnight Edinburgh

 

Day 9 – Departure

This morning an executive motorcoach is provided for the transfer to Edinburgh airport.
