A chance to visit some of the most famous locations in and around London and South East England. Visit Sissinghurst Castle, Canterbury Cathedral and Bateman's, Rudyard Kipling's home. In London have lunch within the Tower of London and visit some of the world's greatest museums. Journey to Shakespeare's home in Stratford-upon Avon and see Oxford.

 

 

 

Day 1 – London Arrival

Arrive in London, one of the world's most popular cities, and meet with your professional tour guide and coach for the journey to Kent and Royal Tunbridge Wells, a place surrounded by the unspoilt beauty of the Weald. Visit Sissinghurst Castle Garden, the creation of the poet and novelist Vita Sackville-West and her husband, author and biographer Sir Harold Nicolson. Overnight Canterbury

 

Day 2 – Canterbury and Leeds Castle

Start the day with a visit and guided tour of Canterbury Cathedral, the magnificent Norman Cathedral that dates back to 1070, where it is possible to experience the fascinating aspects of Cathedral life Leeds Castle, sitting astride an island in the middle of a lake, is the next port of call where there are fine collections of art and antiques. Overnight Canterbury

 

Day 3 – London

On the way to London visit Bateman's, the home and inspiration for many of Rudyard Kipling's works, and walk through the rooms set out as they were in Kipling's day and get lost in thought whilst gazing at the view from his study. On arrival in London enjoy a panoramic tour of the famous landmarks, stopping off along the way to visit Westminster Abbey. This evening why not attend a performance at one of London's West End theatres ? Overnight London

 

Day 4 – London

After breakfast, depart for a panoramic sightseeing tour of the major sites. See Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square and follow the river for included lunch within The Tower of London. This afternoon discover the world's greatest collection of antiquities at the British Museum or at one of London's other museums, admission to most of which are still free. Overnight London

 

Day 5 – Stratford and Oxford

Join the guide and coach for a trip to Stratford-upon-Avon, William Shakespeare's home town, where visits to Shakespeare's Birthplace in Henley Street and the family home of his wife Anne Hathaway are the highlights. Continue on to Oxford, the city of dreaming spires, and visit Christ Church College. Lewis Carroll wrote Alice in Wonderland here. Many of the world's most influential writers have passed through Oxford University and more recently the college has been used in the filming of the Harry Potter movies. Return to London and a farewell dinner in Fleet Street. Overnight London

 

Day 6 – Departure

An executive motor coach is provided for the transfer to the airport.
