Highlights of Spain

Experience the Spain of flamenco, tapas, paella, and much more on this journey from the capital Madrid via Toledo, Cordoba, Seville, Cadiz and Gibraltar and Granada to the Mediterranean coast. Day 1 — Madrid Arrival


On arrival meet with your professional tour guide for the short journey in to central Madrid. Experience an introductory tour of some famous landmarks in this city of elegant boulevards and expansive, manicured parks such as the Buen Retiro. Overnight stay in Madrid.

Day 2 —  Madrid


Explore The Prado Museum in central Madrid, home to a world-class collection of European art from the 12th to 20th century, including renowned Spanish works. Afterward, enjoy free time to relax, try tapas, or visit other attractions like The Royal Palace. Overnight in Madrid.

Day 3 — Toledo


Our journey from Madrid to Toledo begins. Perched atop a hill and surrounded by the Tagus River, Toledo was once Spain's capital. Despite losing political prominence to Madrid, it remains a religious centre, retaining its medieval charm.

We'll explore the Gothic Cathedral, renowned for its art treasures, including the 'transparente'. Then, we'll head south through the Parque Natural de Despeñaperros into Andalucía. Overnight stay in Córdoba.

Day 4 — Cordoba


Córdoba, once an important Roman city and a major Islamic hub, is famed for La Mezquita, a vast mosque dating back to 784 A.D. Converted into a Catholic church in 1236, it later gained a Renaissance-style nave. Explore the historic quarter, including the "Patios" showcasing Jewish heritage, Arab Baths, and the Roman-era bridge featured in Game of Thrones. Overnight in Córdoba.

Day 5 — Seville


Embark on a scenic drive through Andalusia's picturesque countryside, passing orchards of Seville oranges, almonds, and olives. In Seville, explore the monumental Cathedral of Saint Mary of the See, adorned with the Bell Tower, Christopher Columbus's tomb, and other treasures. In the evening, immerse yourself in Seville's historic Jewish Quarter, where flamenco, born as an expression of the marginalized, finds its roots. Experience a mesmerizing flamenco performance, showcasing Spain's rich cultural heritage. Overnight in Seville.

Day 6 — Seville


Start the day with a visit to the Royal Alcázar of Seville, a UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring a blend of Mudéjar and Gothic architecture. Enjoy the afternoon and evening exploring Seville's attractions, such as The Torre del Oro or the Royal Tobacco Factory, at your leisure. Overnight stay in Seville.

Day 7 — Sherry and Cadiz 


Leaving Seville, we head south along the River Guadalquivir to explore the Sherry Triangle, known for its authentic sherry grapes. After a bodega visit and tasting, we continue to Cádiz, one of Europe's oldest cities. Its Old Town, nestled within ancient city walls, boasts charming quarters like El Pópulo and La Viña. Cádiz also features modern areas with wide avenues and lush parks, home to exotic plants brought from the New World by Columbus. Overnight stay in Cádiz.

Day 8 — Gibraltar


Keep your passport handy as we head to Gibraltar, a British Overseas Territory on Spain's south coast. Dominated by the Rock of Gibraltar, this region has a rich history, from Moorish settlements to British rule. Explore the rock's fortifications, including the Moorish Castle and Great Siege Tunnels. Take a minibus up "The Rock" for breathtaking views of Africa, just 9 miles away, and meet the infamous Barbary Apes—watch your food around them! Overnight stay on the Mediterranean coast.

Day 9 — Mediterranean Sea and Granada


Embark on a full-day excursion to Granada, renowned for its medieval Moorish architecture, including the iconic Alhambra. Explore this sprawling hilltop fortress complex with royal palaces, serene patios, and the fountains and orchards of the lush Generalife gardens. Overnight stay on the Mediterranean coast

Day 10 — Departure


An executive motor coach is provided for the transfer to Malaga International Airport.
