A chance to visit some of the most famous locations in and around London and South East England. Visit Sissinghurst Castle, Canterbury Cathedral and Bateman's, Rudyard Kipling's home. In London have lunch within the Tower of London and visit some of the world's greatest museums. Journey to Shakespeare's home in Stratford-upon-Avon and see Oxford. Other cities where this tour can focus include Cambridge, Winchester and Bath.

SAMPLE DAILY ITINERARY BELOW

SOME OF THE TOUR’S SIGHTS.

Day 1 — London Arrival


On arrival meet with your professional tour guide for the journey to Kent and Royal Tunbridge Wells, a place surrounded by the unspoiled beauty of The Weald. Visit Sissinghurst Castle Garden, the creation of the poet and novelist Vita Sackville-West and her husband, author and biographer Sir Harold Nicolson. Overnight stay in Canterbury.

Day 2 —  Canterbury and Leeds Castle


Begin the day with a morning visit and guided tour of Canterbury Cathedral, the magnificent Norman Cathedral that dates back to 1070, and experience the fascinating aspects of Cathedral life. In the afternoon, visit Leeds Castle, which sits astride an island in the middle of a lake, and explore the fine art and antiques collection. Overnight stay in Canterbury.

Day 3 — Bateman's and London


This morning, travel to Bateman's, the home of Rudyard Kipling and inspiration for many of his works. Upon arrival in London, experience an introductory tour of some famous landmarks, passing Buckingham Palace on the way to visiting Westminster Abbey. Dinner will be in a traditional London pub. Overnight stay in London.

Day 4 — London


Depart on a extended guided tour of London's major landmarks. See Big Ben, Piccadilly Circus and Trafalgar Square and follow the river to The Tower of London, where lunch is included. This afternoon discover the world's greatest collection of antiquities at the British Museum or visit another of London's many museums, admissions to most of which are still free. Overnight stay in London.

Day 5 — Stratford-upon-Avon and Oxford


Travel to Stratford-upon-Avon, the home town of William Shakespeare with visits to the Bard's Birthplace and the family home of his wife Anne Hathaway. Continue on to Oxford, the city of dreaming spires, and visit Christ Church College, which inspired Lewis Carroll to write Alice in Wonderland - just one of many influential writers who have passed through Oxford University. Harry Potter fans may recognise this magical location. In the evening, return to London for a farewell dinner. Overnight stay in London.

Day 6 — Departure


An executive motor coach is provided for the transfer to London's Heathrow Airport.
