Playing Rugby in England

Travel with your team to the Britain to compete against the locals and see where the game started. This tour can be adjusted to suit your team's level and specific requests. It is designed for Rugby Union but can be adapted for Rugby League to include Huddersfield where this version of the game originated. The tour can be amended to be purely in Wales, Scotland, Ireland, France or Italy.

SAMPLE DAILY ITINERARY BELOW

SOME OF THE TOUR’S SIGHTS.

Day 1 — Arrival London


On arrival meet with your professional guide and travel straight to the nearby town of Windsor. Windsor has a long association with the British Royal Family and the castle has been in continuous use as a Royal residence since the Middle Ages. When not in use by The Royal Household, see the state apartments housing many of the Royal Family's priceless treasures. The Queen still uses the castle. Overnight stay in London.

Day 2 —  London


After breakfast, depart for a morning sightseeing tour of London's most famous landmarks like Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, St Paul's Cathedral and The Tower of London. This afternoon, enjoy a behind-the-scenes tour of Twickenham, the home of English Rugby and tour The World Rugby Museum. Special workshops can be arranged here on request. Overnight stay in London.

Day 3 — Wembley Stadium Tour


This morning take a look behind the scenes at one of the World's finest sporting arenas. The tour will take you into the players changing rooms, through the tunnel and into the Stadium museum. In the afternoon, play your first game against local opposition. Overnight stay in London.

Day 4 — Bath - Cardiff


This morning, head to Bath, a town that achieved fame as a spa during the Roman occupation of Britain. It is now one of Britain’s most fashionable cities and has a very well known rugby club. Enjoy a visit to the unique Roman Baths and the Georgian Pump Room. Also visit the 15th century Abbey, known as the Lantern of the West as this ancient building has so much glass. Cross the River Severn and enter the proud principality of Wales. Overnight stay in Cardiff.

Day 5 — Cardiff


This morning we pay homage to one of the great stadiums of world sport, the Millennium Stadium. This fantastic stadium opened for the first time in 1999 just in time to host the Rugby World Cup Final between Australia and France. This afternoon play your second game against a local Welsh opposition. Overnight stay in Cardiff.

Day 6 — Cardiff - Stratford-upon-Avon 


After breakfast, visit Big Pit, the National Coal Museum of Wales. Learn how mining was fundamental to the economy and way of life in South Wales, before heading west to the attractive town of Stratford-upon-Avon to visit the birthplace of William Shakespeare and visit the home of his wife Anne Hathaway. Overnight stay in The Midlands.

Day 7 — William Webb Ellis and Rugby


Visit the Webb Ellis Rugby Football Museum this morning. The museum is housed in the building where the shoe and boot maker James Gilbert made his first rugby ball in 1842. The museum is packed with much rugby memorabilia, including the original Richard Lindon (inventor of the "oval" rugby ball), rubber bladder and brass hand pump. The final game of the tour takes place this afternoon. On request private tours of Rugby School itself can be made available. Overnight stay in The Midlands.

Day 8 — Warwick Castle - London


Visit Warwick Castle this morning. Over a thousand years of secrets hide in the shadows of the Castle. From the days of William the Conqueror to the reign of Queen Victoria, the Castle has provided a backdrop for many turbulent times. Following the tour, head south back to London. Overnight stay in London.

Day 9 — Departure


An executive motor coach is provided for the transfer to London's Heathrow Airport
